CHICAGO - Saint Xavier University used a 19-2 run in the final 10 minutes of the first half to take a 10-point halftime lead and then pulled away from University of St. Francis in the second half and defeated the Saints, 80-50, in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball game Saturday afternoon at the Shannon Center.

CHICAGO - University of St. Francis rallied from an 11-point deficit to tie the game in the final minute of play but No. 3-ranked Saint Xavier University made 7-of-8 free throws in the final 52 seconds to claim an 83-78 victory and snap USF's 10-game winning streak.

 
Reserve center Bruce Watson posted his first double-double with 14 points and a game-high 14 rebounds.

JOLIET, Ill. - University of St. Francis played the tempo it wanted and held defending Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference champion Robert Morris to nearly 15 points below its scoring average but the Saints' upset bid fell short as the Eagles snapped USF's brief winning streak at two games with a 67-58 victory in the Recreation Center Wednesday night.

The Saints were led by Greg Leavell's (Farmington Hills, MI) double-double. His stellar performance earned him CCAC Men's Basketball Division I Player of the Week for the week ending January 31
