ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- The USF fall break road trip to Florida was expected to be a difficult one on the court and Tuesday's doubleheader lived up to those expectations. USF fell to both Webber International (19-5) in three games and NCAA Division II No. 22 Eckerd (13-8) in four.

The Saints (23-13) struggled offensively against Webber (an NAIA team that received votes in this week's national poll), with only sophomore right-side attacker Sarah Ahline (Lemont H.S./Lemont, IL) having much success. Ahline finished with a team-high 10 kills and a .368 attacking percentage. The Saints hit just .068 as a team, committing 28 hitting errors against 35 kills.

USF played much better against host Eckerd in the evening match, but the talented Tritons were tough on their home court. After dropping the opening game by a 25-20 count, USF came back to even the match with a 26-24 win in game two.  Eckerd then went on to post identical scores of 25-16 in winning the next two games.

Outside hitters Jazzmyne Robbins (La Salle-Peru H.S./Peru, IL) and Kristee Conrad (Stagg H.S./Hickory Hills, IL) paced USF with 12 kills apiece. Junior middle blocker Kyrsten Becker (Rolling Meadows H.S./Arlington Heights, IL) was the most effective defensive player with 39 serve receptions and a dozen digs.

USF is off on Wednesday and then plays its final game of the trip on Thursday at NCAA Division II No. 14 Saint Leo (FL).
