JOLIET, Ill. - Freshman outside hitter Jazzmyne Robbins (Ls Salle-Peru H.S./Peru, IL) authored 12 kills to lead University of St. Francis to a three-game sweep of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Calumet College of St. Joseph (IN) on Thursday night at the Recreation Center.

The Saints (24-14, 8-1) moved to within one game of first-place Olivet Nazarene (25-8, 9-0) in the CCAC standings and set up a battle for the conference regular season championship next Tuesday in the season finale with the Tigers at Bourbonnais.

USF struggled to pull away from Calumet (1-33, 1-8) in each game as the Crimson Wave gave USF a fight throughout the match. The win snapped a three-match losing streak for USF and was just the Saints' third win in their last nine outings.

Sophomore Sarah Ahline (Lemont H.S./Lemont, IL) added 7 kills for USF and juniors Kyrsten Becker (Rolling Meadows H.S./Arlington Heights, IL) and Lauren Hoffman (Plainfield South H.S./Plainfield, IL) each added 6. Freshman setter Ashley Richards (Wilmington H.S./Wilmington, IL) ran the offense with 37 assists.

Senior libero Courtney Ambrosch (Joliet Township H.S./Joliet, IL) led the USF defensive attack with 20 digs while Becker topped the team with 18 serve receptions.

The Saints have wrapped up no worse than second place in the CCAC standings and can tie Olivet Nazarene for the league title with a win at ONU next week. More importantly, if USF can defeat the No. 13 Tigers the Saints will earn the No. 1 seed in the CCAC Championship Tournament that begins on Nov. 6. USF will play host to one of the two pools of four teams that will play round-robin tournaments in the first round of the tourney on Nov. 6 and 7. The winners of the two pools will meet in the conference tourney final on Nov. 13 at the site of the higher seed.
