JOLIET, Ill. -- Heavy rains over the past two days have forced postponement of Friday's men's soccer game featuring University of St. Francis and Holy Cross College (IN). The game is now scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. CST at the Galowich YMCA field.
The game is USF's final regular season contest and may have important
Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference postseason tournament
implications for the Saints (6-9-2, 3-5-1). If Illinois Tech loses or
ties its Saturday contest with Cardinal Stritch (WI), the Saints will
enter Sunday's game still harboring hopes of earning the sixth and
final spot in the CCAC playoffs. USF must win Sunday and hope that
Illinois Tech either suffers two losses or a loss and a tie in its
final two games. After playing Cardinal Stritch on Saturday, Illinois
Tech completes regular-season play at home vs. Robert Morris on
Tuesday.
