JOLIET, Ill. -- Second-seeded University of St. Francis swept third-seeded Illinois Tech Saturday afternoon to advance to the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tourney title match on Friday against regular-season champion and 13th-ranked Olivet Nazarene in Bourbonnais.

USF (27-15) played nearly flawless volleyball on Saturday, defeating the Scarlet Hawks (18-19) in a match that lasted only 55 minutes. The Saints won the opening set by a 25-18 score and then took the next two in even quicker fashion by scores of 25-14 and 25-16.

Junior middle blocker Lauren Hoffman (Plainfield South H.S/Plainfield, IL) led the USF attack with 15 kills and only a pair of hitting errors in 25 total attempts for an attacking percentage of .520. The 15 kills equaled her career high and were her most ever in a 3-set match.

Freshman outside hitter Jazzmyne Robbins (La Salle-Peru H.S./Peru, IL) added 14 kills to the Saints' effort. Freshman setter Ashley Richards (Wilmington H.S./Wilmington, IL) ran the offense with 39 assists.

Defensively, USF was paced by junior outside hitter Kyrsten Becker (Rolling Meadows H.S./Arlington Heights, IL) who led the team with 15 digs and 17 serve receptions. Senior libero Courtney Ambrosch (Joliet Township H.S./Joliet, IL) added 11 digs and freshman defensive specialist Ashley Thompson (Portage H.S./Hobart, IN) had 10.

USF finished second behind Olivet Nazarene in the CCAC regular-season standings and lost its only meeting with the Tigers in three games this past Tuesday at Bourbonnais. USF must defeat Olivet on Friday to earn its first trip to the NAIA Championships since 2002.
