JOLIET, Ill. - The William Penn University Statesmen limited University of St. Francis' high-powered offense to a season-low 177 yards and 6 points and defeated the Saints 27-6 in the season finale for both teams.

William Penn (7-5) never trailed after taking a 7-0 lead midway through the first quarter. USF (3-8) responded with its only scoring drive of the game when senior quarterback John Goolsby (Morris H.S./Morris, IL) connected with senior tight end Andy Zurales (Lincoln-Way Central H.S./New Lenox, IL) on a 35-yard touchdown pass in the final minute of the opening quarter. A poor snap on the extra-point attempt led to an incomplete pass and the Saints still trailed 7-6.

That was all the scoring in the first half and William Penn took complete control of the game in the third and fourth quarters. The Statesmen sandwiched a 7-play, 55-yard scoring drive around a pair of short touchdown drives that were set up by a poor USF punt and a Saints' turnover.

The one offensive highlight for the day for USF was the play of freshman running back Connor Krisch (Joliet Catholic Academy/Plainfield, IL)Krisch topped the 100-yard mark for the fourth time and eclipsed the 1000-yard mark for the season (1009) with 105 rushing yards on 27 carries. Krisch managed the 1000-yard season despite not becoming a regular until the season's fourth game following a season-ending injury to tailback Javon Stewart (Bolingbrook H.S./Bolingbrook, IL).

Goolsby concluded his outstanding USF career with a difficult day. The senior completed just 10-of-29 passes for only 93 yards and threw one interception. Still, he finished his Saints' career with nearly every USF passing record.

Senior wide receiver Jason Fiske (Belvidere H.S./Loves Park, IL) capped off his career with 7 catches for 43 yards. He led the Saints in receptions on the season with 84 and, like Goolsby, inked his name into nearly all the top USF receiving records.
