University of St. Francis senior Jeremy Unger (Coal City H.S./Coal City, IL) closed out his career on a high note when it was announced on Friday that he was named a Daktronics NAIA Men's Tennis Scholar-Athlete. For Unger, it was the second time he was recognized.
The senior completed his season by going 20-9 in singles play and 5-5 in doubles action. The 20 singles wins led the 2008-2009 squad, which finished 17-7.
In the classroom, Unger graduated with a 3.57 cumulative grade point average. He majored in math with a concentration in secondary education.
The 17 wins by the Saints were the third-most in school history and marked their winningest season since 1981.
