No less than four Saints were among those named as Daktronics NAIA Women's Track & Field Scholar-Athletes when the NAIA national office made the announcement official.

Garnering the recognition for University of St. Francis were juniors Meghan Bannatz (Novi H.S./Novi, MI), Jennifer Beard (Plainfield Central H.S./Plainfield, IL), Jennifer Horn (Montague H.S./Montague, MI) and Jessica Horn (Montague H.S./Montague, MI).

Beard, a thrower for the Saints, boasts a cumulative 3.55 grade point average. She is majoring in elementary education.

Bannatz, a secondary education major with a concentration in math, has maintained a perfect 4.00 grade point average throughout her three-year career. Bannatz, who also earned the honor in cross country this past fall, is a long-distance runner during the track season.

Heptathletes Jennifer and Jessica Horn, who joined Bannatz on the cross country honor roll, as well, are the authors of 3.73 and 3.63 grade point averages, respectively. Jennifer Horn is majoring in management with Jessica's focus on mass communication, particularly advertising/public relations.
