Senior Courtney Ambrosch was named the CCAC's Libero of the Year.

Three University of St. Francis volleyball players - led by Libero of the Year Courtney Ambrosch and Freshman of the Year Jazzmyne Robbins --were named to the 2009 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference First Team and two others garnered Honorable Mention as the league announced its post-season honor squads.

Ambrosch (Joliet Township H.S./Joliet, IL), a senior, was joined by junior middle blocker Lauren Hoffman (Plainfield South H.S./Plainfield, IL) and Robbins (La Salle-Peru H.S./Peru, IL) on the league's first-team honor unit. Junior middle blocker/outside hitter Kyrsten Becker (Rolling Meadows H.S./Arlington Heights, IL) and sophomore right-side attacker Sarah Ahline (Lemont H.S./Lemont, IL) were both named to the Honorable Mention list.

Ambrosch was voted the league's top libero after leading the Saints and the CCAC in digs (824). Her average of 5.28 digs per game led the Saints and was third best in the conference. Ambrosch was the only Saint to play in all 156 games in the 2009 season and was USF's only player to don the different colored Libero jersey. She was also a first-team All-CCAC choice a year ago and was an honorable mention pick in 2007 which was her first year at USF after transferring into the university. She was named the CCAC Player of the Week once in the past season.

Hoffman is a first-team all-CCAC recipient. She led the Saints in blocking for the third straight year, compiling a total of 142 which included 34 solos. She averaged 2.28 kills per game and committed only 96 attacking errors in 765 total attempts for a team-best .333 hitting percentage.

Robbins, an outside hitter, led the Saints and the CCAC in total kills with 555. Her average of 3.68 kills per game easily led the Saints and was the second-best mark in the conference. She was named the CCAC Player of the Week on one occasion and was nominated for the honor three times.

Becker is on the Honorable Mention list for the second consecutive season. She was honored strictly as an outside hitter in 2008 but moved to the middle this year and played the majority of her junior season as a middle blocker. She averaged just under two kills per game with a mark of 1.99. Becker played well all around the court as she led the Saints in serve receptions with 798 and posted a .950 receiving percentage. She added 448 digs - second only to Ambrosch - and 790 blocks, which trailed only Hoffman on the USF statistics sheet.

Ahline was recognized by the CCAC for the first time. She came on strong at the end of the 2009 season and finished the year with a mark of 2.41 kills per game which was the third highest on the team.

The Saints completed the season with a 27-16 overall record and placed second in both the CCAC regular-season standings and in the league's championship tournament behind nationally-ranked Olivet Nazarene who represented the CCAC in the NAIA Championship Tournament.
