BOURBONNAIS - For the first 30 minutes, University of St. Francis gave No. 19 Olivet Nazarene all it could handle Tuesday night.  But the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference-leading Tigers then went on a 14-0 run over the next four-and-one-half minutes and took control of the game that they went on to win, 60-45, at McHie Arena.

USF (4-16, 0-2) trailed by just a basket at halftime (24-22) and never trailed by more than 5 points in the opening half.  The Saints even led on three occasions before the break.

USF started the second half on a positive note, scoring the first four points to take a 26-24 lead. The lead changed hands six times in the half before the Saints found themselves tied with ONU at 34 apiece with just under 11 minutes left to play.

It was at that point where the host Tigers (12-6, 2-0) finally took control. They held the Saints scoreless for over five minutes while they opened a 48-34 lead.  The Saints went ice cold from both the field and the free throw line in the final 10 minutes, scoring just 11 points with six of them coming in the final minute of play.

"The 14-0 run killed us," said USF coach Pat Sullivan. "It was a great game for the first 30 minutes. We had the tempo we wanted and we were executing our game plan.

"Then we went on the drought," added Sullivan. "We lost our concentration and the minute you don't concentrate, they get you. And that's what they did tonight."

USF shot just 35.4 percent (17-of-48) from the floor and only hit 9-of-26 shots in the second half. ONU shot just 43.1 percent (22-of-51) for the game but hit at a 54.2 percent clip (13-of-24) in the final half.

The Saints had no scorers in double figures. Junior forward Greg Leavell (Schoolcraft College/Farmington Hills, MI) led USF with 9 points.  Junior point guard Andrew Fair (Olive-Harvey College/Chicago, IL) added 8 points and a team-best 4 assists.
