SAN ANTONIO - University of St. Francis freshman Grant Whybark (Morris H.S./Morris, IL) has been named to the North division NAIA PING All-Region Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America. Whybark, who led USF to the NAIA Championship Tournament in May, is one of 60 NAIA players selected to the GCAA honor squads.
Whybark led the Saints with an average of 77.3 strokes per round over the fall and spring seasons. He was the lone Saint to post an average below 80. His best 18-hole score of the year was a 70 which he fired in the Saints' own spring invitational at Wedgewood Golf Course in April. He posted 14 sub-80 rounds in his freshman season.
