CHICAGO - Senior guards Jacqie Storm (Sandburg H.S./Orland Park, IL) and Anna Sears (Providence Catholic H.S./Mokena, IL) scored 27 and 20 points, respectively, to lead University of St. Francis to a convincing 85-58 win over Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Robert Morris in the regular-season finale at Loyola University's Gentile Center Saturday night.
Storm matched her season high with 27 points and added 7 rebounds, 2 assists and a pair of steals. Sears led the Saints with 6 assists.
USF trailed only once in the game at 4-3 and led by as many as 16 points in the first half before settling for a 38-27 halftime advantage.
Robert Morris (15-14, 2-8) could get no closer than within seven points in the second half at 40-33 before USF started to pull away. The Saints led 67-54 at the 4:47 mark and then finished the game off with an 18-4 run.
Storm and Sears got plenty of offensive help with sophomore reserve center Jen Andes (Hall H.S./Princeton, IL) collecting her second career double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds. Senior forward Kellie Fazio (Leyden H.S./Rosemont, IL) also scored in double figures with 14 points and added 6 rebounds.
The Saints (17-12, 8-2) head into the CCAC postseason tournament as the No. 2 seed for the second straight year. USF will get a first-round bye and will open postseason play on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Recreation Center against the winner of Tuesday's opening-round game between third-place Olivet Nazarene and sixth-place Holy Cross.
