CHICAGO - Robert Morris wrapped up an outright Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball championship Saturday night with an 80-57 victory over University of St. Francis at Loyola University's Gentile Center.

Robert Morris (18-9,9-1) broke the game open in the first half when the Eagles knocked down 8-of-12 3-pointers and opened up a 47-24 halftime advantage.

The Eagles, though, did not have an easy time of it in the second half until the final four minutes of the game. USF (8-20, 4-6) battled and clawed and chopped the big halftime deficit down to just 11 points at 66-55 with 4:59 remaining in the game. RMU then started a 12-0 run that ended the Saints' comeback and cemented the league title for the Eagles.

Sophomore Bruce Watson (Schoolcraft College/Detroit, MI) keyed the second-half rally as he finished with a game-high 22 points and added 5 rebounds. Freshman center Michael Cole (Manley H.S./Chicago, IL) scored 12 points and had a team-best 11 rebounds in just 16 minutes of action before fouling out in the early minutes of the second half.

USF opens play in the CCCC postseason tournament on Tuesday night with a 7 p.m. game vs. Indiana South Bend at the Recreation Center. The game will mark 34-year head coach Pat Sullivan's final home game as he is retiring at the end of the season.
