ORLANDO, Fla. --- University of St. Francis made Saint Mary's College (IN) work hard for its 9-0 victory on Wednesday morning, but the effort did not stop there for the Saints, who rallied to defeat Malone University (OH), 5-4, later that day to finish their Florida trek at 2-3.

Saint Mary's (6-2) opened with 8-5, 8-1 and 8-6 victories in doubles play, but had to work the full complement of sets in three singles matches to gain the full sweep. Mary Therese Lee had to rally to defeat USF junior Emily Zajda (Joliet Catholic Academy/Plainfield, IL), 5-7, 6-1, 1-0 (10-7) and Kate Grabarek did the same versus junior Barb Koziol (Reavis H.S./Burbank, IL) in a 2-6, 6-1, 6-4 decision.

Junior Corinne Lutz (Minooka H.S./Minooka, IL) also battled Camille Gebert, rallying from a 6-0 first-set defeat to tie the contest at 1-1 with a 6-3 win in the second set. Gebert won the tie-breaking third set, 10-7.

In the second match, Koziol and Zajda keyed the trip-ending contest by winning a pair of matches each. First, they teamed up for an 8-1 victory at the No. 3 doubles spot before gaining 6-2, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-0 victories, respectively, at Nos. 5 and 6 singles.

Senior Carla Braun (Lincoln-Way Central H.S./New Lenox, IL) also teamed up with Lutz for an 8-5 win at No. 3 doubles.

USF's other victory came at the No. 3 singles position with sophomore Agnieszka Belza (Nazareth Academy/Chicago, IL) taking care of Kim Knisley, 6-1, 6-1.

The Saints (11-7) return to action on March 27 when they host Indiana Institute of Technology at Lockport High School.
