TAMPA, Fla. --- University of St. Francis opened the spring portion of its campaign Wednesday and Thursday by placing 10th in a field of 13 teams at the Northern Illinois University Snowbird Intercollegiate at Pebble Creek Golf and Country Club.

Junior Vicky McGowan (Lincoln-Way East H.S./Mokena, IL) was the lone Saint to shoot under 90 on both days of the event recording an 89 on the first day before improving by two strokes on Thursday to register an 87. For the two days, she totaled a 176 to finish in a two-way tie for 35th place out of 84 total golfers.

Sophomore Rachael Anderson (Joliet Junior College/Joliet, IL) finished three strokes behind McGowan with her 179, which was broken up as 89-90.

Freshman Ashleigh Offerman (Joliet Catholic Academy/Elwood, IL) made the biggest improvement from the first day to the second among Saint players registering an 89 after a first-day 98 to total 187.

Among USF's other top performers were freshman Lauren Bone (Almont H.S./Almont, MI) (92-97=189), junior Lindsey Karlson (Lincoln-Way Central H.S./New Lenox, IL) (90-102=192) and freshman Kali Hale (Joliet Township H.S./Joliet, IL) (99-93=192).

As a team, USF scored a two-day total of 732. Methodist University (NC) won the meet firing a 645, which was five strokes better than second-place Indiana State University and Youngstown State University (OH).
