GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - University of St. Francis won two of the three doubles matches but then lost all six singles bouts as the upset-minded Saints dropped a 7-2 verdict at No. 25 Aquinas College on Friday afternoon.

The No. 1 doubles team of Scott Surges (Providence Catholic H.S./Joliet, IL) and Luis Oliveira (Seward County CC NE/Sao Lourenco, Brazil) got the Saints off to a good start with a tight 9-8 (8-6) win in a match that took nearly two hours to play. USF's second doubles team of Jakub Szymanski (Bethany College KS/Poznan, Poland) and Jake Quigley (Joliet Catholic Academy/Joliet, IL) got the Saints a second win with an 8-2 victory.

Two of the six singles losses went three sets and one of the two-set matches was very close.

Both Szymanski and Surges lost the three-set matches at Nos. 1 and 2, respectively. No. 6 Erick Dobrzynski (Moraine Valley CC/Justice, IL) fell in a close bout by scores of 7-5 and 6-4.

USF (11-5) stays in Grand Rapids to play Davenport University on Saturday morning.
