LOCKPORT, Ill. --- Aided by its veteran corps, University of St. Francis edged out Indiana Wesleyan University, 5-4, Thursday afternoon at Lockport High School's tennis courts.

Seniors Scott Surges (Providence Catholic H.S./Joliet, IL) and Luis Oliveira (Seward County C.C., KS/Sao Lourenco, Brazil) and junior Jacob Quigley (Saint Xavier University/Joliet, IL) all earned a pair of victories on the day enabling the Saints to gain their 13th win of the season against only five defeats.

Oliveira and Surges teamed up for their first win, gaining an 8-6 decision at No. 1 doubles, while Quigley paired up with Jakub Szymanski (Bethany College, KS/Poznan, Poland) in the No. 2 spot for an 8-4 victory.

In singles play, Surges got the best of Ben Bischoff, 6-4, 6-2, at the No. 2 spot and Oliveira fought off Carson VandenBossche, 7-6 (7-3), 6-3, at No. 3.

Quigley sealed Indiana Wesleyan's fate with his 6-3, 6-0 win in the No. 4 slot.

Next up for the Saints is a date with NCAA I Western Illinois University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
