WAUKEGAN, Ill. - Junior Vicky McGowan (Lincoln-Way East H.S./Mokena, IL) tied for third place individually with a round of 79 as University of St. Francis also tied for third out of 10 teams in the Robert Morris University Fall Classic held Friday at the Foss Park Golf Course.
McGowan finished just three strokes behind medalist Marisa Miko of North Central College. McGowan was not the lone USF golfer to finish in the top 10 as freshman Kali Hale (Joliet Township H.S./Joliet, IL) finished in a four-way tie for seventh place with a round of 82.
USF's team score of 335 - its lowest of the young season to date - was capped off with an 86 from freshman Ashleigh Offerman (Joliet Catholic Academy/Elwood, IL) and an 88 fired by sophomore Rachael Anderson (Plainfield South H.S./Joliet, IL).
USF's remaining two players, freshmen Lindsey Wilson (Rogers H.S./Rogers, AR) and Lauren Bone (Almont H.S./Almont, MI) posted scores of 92 and 95 respectively.
The Saints' team score of 335 was one stroke lower than their best score of the 2008-09 season, a 336 shot at the Iowa Wesleyan Invitational last September. USF fired a 351 in the RMU tourney at Foss Park last September.
