CHAMPAIGN, Ill. --- Three first-year Saints and another underclassman highlighted University of St. Francis' showing at the 2010 University of Illinois Twilight Invitational on Friday.

Freshman Sean Smith (Winnebago H.S./Winnebago, IL) got things started with his 10th-place performance in the 1,500 meter run. Smith recorded a time of 4:00.17 in the field of 33 runners.

Junior transfer Josh Barry (Moraine Valley C.C./Tinley Park, IL) earned USF's best finish on the day when he placed 6th out of 17 individuals in the discus throw with his toss of 44.77 meters.

Sophomore Wayland Froelich (Amboy H.S./Amboy, IL) used a leap of 6.41 meters in the long jump to place seventh out of 12 in that event, while sophomore transfer Daniel Bruckner (Northern Illinois University/Plainfield, IL) registered a jump of 4.25 meters to place eighth out of 11 in the pole vault.

USF has next week off before venturing over to Naperville to compete in the North Central College Dr. Keeler Invitational May 13-14.
