MOUNT PLEASANT, Iowa - Six different players scored one goal apiece as University of St. Francis opened its 2010 women's soccer season Sunday afternoon with an easy 6-0 victory over the Tigers of Iowa Wesleyan College.

The Saints jumped on IWC very quickly, scoring four goals in the first 15 minutes of play.

Junior Erin Voss (Nazareth Academy/Elmhurst, IL), USF's leading scorer each of the past two seasons, got the Saints on the board in the game's fourth minute with a goal off an assist from freshman Brooke Polus (Lake Central H.S./Crown Point, IN). Senior Michelle Maxwell (Lincoln-Way East H.S./Frankfort, IL) made it 2-0 just six minutes later with both Voss and junior Regina Melone (Lockport H.S./Lockport, IL) getting credited with assists.

Freshman Kaley Marcinak (Lake Central H.S./Schererville, IN) collected an unassisted goal in the 12th minute and Polus made it 4-0 in the 15th minute off a feed from sophomore Danice Carbajal (Merrillville H.S./Merrillville, IN).

Junior Natalia Naumoff (St. Mary's Academy/Elmwood Park, IL) and freshman Brittany McDaniel (Plainfield South H.S./Plainfield, IL) added goals in the second half with Voss and freshman Ashley Sikyta (Normal Community H.S./Normal, IL) getting the assists.

The Saints travel to Indianapolis next Saturday and Sunday to play in the Marian University Labor Day Tournament.
