JOLIET, Ill. --- For the first time in school history, University of St. Francis registered three golfers with sub-80 scores in the same meet, but the Fighting Saints still came up three strokes short of claiming their own season-opening fall invitational at Inwood Golf Course on Wednesday.

North Central College came away earning the team title in the five-team event shooting a 324 with individual medalist Alyssa Gaudio leading the way with her four-over 75. St. Francis placed second at 327 with Carthage College (WI) edging out Robert Morris University for third, 345-346. Elmhurst College completed the team scoring at 360.

USF received record-setting performances from junior Rachael Anderson (Joliet Junior College/Joliet, IL) and sophomore Ashleigh Offerman (Joliet Catholic Academy/Elwood, IL) with both players breaking 80 for the first time in their career. Anderson placed third overall with her 78, while Offerman tied teammate Vicky McGowan (Lincoln-Way East H.S./Mokena, IL) for fourth place with her 79.

Sophomore Lauren Bone (Almont H.S./Almont, MI) rounded out USF's team scoring shooting a 91.
