University of St. Francis sophomore Sean Smith (Winnebago H.S./Winnebago, IL) has earned the men's
cross country Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Runner of the Week award for the second time in three weeks. He competed against over 500 runners at
Loyola University's Sean Earle Invitational at Chicago's Montrose Harbor last Saturday.
Smith crossed the finish line as the 32nd runner of 528 participants in the 8 kilometer race. He posted a time of 25:23 and was the fourth NAIA runner to finish, helping No. 23 St. Francis to 14th-place standing out of 41 teams. His time was better than several NCAA Division I and II runners.
This past week, USF received its first ranking in the NAIA national coaches' poll at No. 23.
