JOLIET, Ill. --- Senior Raven Kelly (Romeoville, Ill.) and junior Jenna Moody (Joliet, Ill./ Plainfield Central) led the way to University of St. Francis' third-place finish at the 2017 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Joliet Memorial Stadium on Friday and Saturday.
Kelly was named the CCAC Outstanding Field Performer of the Meet after winning both the hammer throw and shot put events and placing third in the discus (136 feet, three inches) to net 26 points for the Saints. Her efforts in both the hammer (190-6) and shot put (47-4.5) met the NAIA "A" standard with the former mark also establishing a new league record.
Moody captured two individual titles with her 55.57-second time in the 400-meter dash (NAIA "A" standard) and 25.28-second effort in the 200-meter dash.
Senior Isi Edeko (Bellwood, Ill./ Walther Lutheran) also hit the "A" standard with her championship performance in the triple jump (39-3.75).
Senior Gracie Ball (Batavia, Ill./ Batavia) brought home USF's sixth individual title with her time of 11:29.96 in the 3,000-meter steeplechase.
The Saints also scored a first-place finish in the 4x800-meter relay with the team of junior Catherine Crosson (Plainfield, Ill./ Plainfield North), junior Lesley Lopez (Lyons, Ill./ Morton), freshman Bre Rodriuguez (Dwight, Ill./ Dwight) and junior Ashlee Knott (Washington, Ill./ Washington) completing the race in 9:28.81.
The Saints totaled 171 points in the meet, placing behind frontrunner Olivet Nazarene University (264 points) and St. Ambrose University (204).
