WHITEWATER, Wis. – The USF men's tennis team opened up its season by competing at the Warhawk Fall Invite hosted by UW-Whitewater.

The Saints faced off against teams from all three NCAA divisions as well as NAIA opponents in an individual format

Playing at the No. 3 singles flight, Mike Hasler (Lockport, Ill./Lockport) posted a 1-2 record. After dropping his opening round, Hasler reached the fifth-place match with a 6-2, 4-6, 10-8 victory over Nate Benoit of Ohio Northern University. Hasler took sixth after a loss to Grand Valley State's Filipe Castanheira.

Miguel Rayos del Sol (Romeoville, Ill./Romeoville) also finished in sixth place at No. 5 singles. Rayos del Sol's victory came by a 6-0, 7-6 (3) line over ONU's Adam Clark.

Jordan Missig (Channahon, Ill./Joliet Catholic) posted a fifth-place finish in the No. 7 singles flight. After dropping his first-round, Missig took a bye in the consolation semis and then beat teammate Oscar Tellez (Joliet, Ill./Providence Catholic) 6-2, 6-4 in the fifth-place match.

In doubles action, Hasler and Reyes del Sol took seventh at No. 2, defeating Kyce Stewart and Clark from ONU 8-3 in their final match of the tournament. Navarro and Schieffer took fifth at No. 3 with a dramatic 11-9 victory in the tiebreaker of the fifth-place match.

St. Francis travels to North Central College for a dual match with the Cardinals on September 20.
