VALPARAISO, Ind. -- Freshman outside hitter Jazzmyne Robbins (La Salle-Peru H.S./Peru, IL) cranked out 14 kills and committed just 3 hitting errors in 25 total attempts to lead University of St. Francis to a three-game sweep (26-24, 25-14, 25-16) of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Purdue North Central in league volleyball action Tuesday night.

The Saints had to rally in game one and overcame an 18-10 deficit to come back and post a narrow 26-24 victory over PNC (6-8, 0-2). Games two and three were much easier as USF (9-7, 2-0) took control early and rolled to convincing wins by scores of 25-14 and 25-16.

Robbins got offensive support from junior middle hitter Kyrsten Becker (Rolling Meadows H.S./Arlington Heights,IL) who finished with 9 kills and junior middle Lauren Hoffman (Plainfield South H.S./Plainfield, IL) who added 8 kills.

Senior libero Courtney Ambrosch (Joliet Township H.S./Joliet, IL) topped the Saints' defense with 18 digs and 16 service receptions in as many attempts. Becker was next in line with 10 digs and 11 serve receptions. Hoffman led the team with 5 total blocks (2 solos) and Becker contributed 3.

The Saints have the weekend off but will play an exhibition match vs. their Alumni on Saturday morning at 9 a.m. at the Recreation Center as USF celebrates Homecoming in Joliet. USF's next match is next Tuesday (Sept. 22) when it travels to Milwaukee to play CCAC foe Cardinal Stritch (WI).
