
JOLIET, Ill. --- University of St. Francis dropped its second match in a row at home on Saturday afternoon as Illinois Wesleyan University came to town and handed the Saints an 8-1 loss at the Challenge Fitness Tennis Courts.
The No. 3 doubles team of seniors Matt Nosbisch (Metamora H.S./Metamora, IL) and Jakub Szymanski (Bethany College, KS/Poznan, Poland) earned USF's lone victory on the day with their 8-4 win.
Szymanski also had a chance at a second win at No. 2 singles, where he took Nick Kenaga to three sets with two tiebreakers before falling, 7-6 (7-3), 6-7 (1-7), 10-4.
Illinois Wesleyan (1-0) captured four other singles matches in straight sets and the final one by default.
The Titans won the first two doubles matches by 8-5 and 8-4 counts.
USF (1-2) looks to get back on track tomorrow when it faces St. Ambrose University (IA) in Moline. The match is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
