CHICAGO --- University of St. Francis' limited roster did not deter the Saints from bringing home plenty of hardware at the North Park University Small College Relays on Saturday. USF earned five top three finishes in performances by four different Saints with two individuals placing first in the Saints' first outdoor meet of the season.

Junior Daniel Bruckner (Northern Illinois University/Plainfield, IL) got things rolling with his first-place showing in the pole vault. Bruckner, who missed the indoor season due to a nagging leg injury, vaulted 13 feet, 11 1/4 inches.

Junior Wayland Froelich (Amboy H.S./Amboy, IL) followed with a meet-best 44-5 ¼ leap in the triple jump.

Junior Josh Barry (Moraine Valley Community College/Tinley Park, IL) procured each of USF's two runnerup finishes in the shot put (43-6 ½) and discus throw (143-1), while sophomore Greg Macek (Oak Forest H.S./Oak Forest, IL) was third in the latter event with his throw of 128-6.

USF sent only its field event participants to the meet due to Saturday's cold conditions. The Saints hope to have their full contingent competing on Wednesday at the Trinity Christian College Troll Relays.
