HANOVER PARK, Ill. --- Behind senior Jakub Szymanski and sophomore Andres Stecher, University of St. Francis claimed back-to-back wins for the first time in 2011 after outlasting Wheaton College, 5-4, at the Centre Court Athletic Club Monday afternoon.

Szymanski (Bethany College, KS/Poznan, Poland) and Stecher (Pestalozzi H.S./Buenos Aires, Argentina) each won a pair of matches with freshman Mark Zubov (St. Petersburg H.S./St. Petersburg, Russia) securing the other victory to give St. Francis (5-10) the match.

Szymanski's 1-6, 6-0, 6-2 come-from-behind victory at No. 2 singles turned out to be the difference as the win nailed down USF's fifth victory on the day. He also teamed up with senior Jacob Quigley (Saint Xavier University/Joliet Catholic Academy/Joliet, IL) for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles.

Stecher's singles win came in the No. 4 spot (7-5, 6-3) after he netted an 8-4 victory at No. 3 doubles with junior Eddie Semik (Marian Catholic H.S./Park Forest, IL).

Zubov provided the other singles win in the No. 1 slot, defeating Taylor Johnson, 6-3, 6-3.

USF, a winner in three of its last four matches, looks to add to its winning ways when it meets up with Indiana Wesleyan University on Friday at Valparaiso University's tennis courts. The match is set to begin at 3 p.m.
