
LOCKPORT, Ill. --- Olivet Nazarene University did nothing to hurt its NAIA No. 14 national ranking as the Tigers made it 14 wins in a row with their 8-1 victory over University of St. Francis in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup at the Challenge Fitness outdoor tennis courts on Tuesday afternoon.
USF's lone victory of the day came via senior Emily Zajda (Joliet Catholic Academy/Plainfield, IL). She rallied for a 5-7, 6-4, 10-7 victory at No. 6 singles.
Senior Barb Koziol (Reavis H.S./Burbank, IL) found herself in a similar spot dropping her first set, 6-4, at No. 5 singles. She won the second set, 6-0, but could not prevail in the third set, falling 10-7.
Olivet Nazarene (14-1, 2-0 CCAC) won the other four singles matches by a combined 48-7 count in games played.
The Tigers also took care of business in doubles play with 8-5, 8-4 and 8-2 victories.
USF (7-9, 1-1) faces another stiff test on Saturday when it hosts Robert Morris University in a 2 p.m. match at Challenge Fitness.
