
LOCKPORT, Ill. - University of St. Francis won all nine matches decisively on Sunday as the Saints defeated Mount Mary College (WI) at the Challenge Fitness outdoor courts.
Freshman Katie Kipping (Newman Central Catholic H.S./Dixon, IL) and sophomore Danielle Emola (Lincoln-Way East H.S./Frankfort, IL) got things started quickly with an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles. Kipping and Emola each posted easy wins in singles as well, with Kipping winning at No. 1 by a 6-0, 6-0 score and Emola nearly matching that with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 2. Kipping is now 9-0 this fall in dual match singles play.
Sophomore Agnes Belza (Nazareth Academy/Chicago, IL) teamed with junior Emily Zajda (Joliet Catholic Academy/Plainfield, IL) to win at No. 2 doubles by an 8-1 count. Belza also won easily at No. 4 singles, posting a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
Senior Carla Braun (Lincoln-Way Central H.S./New Lenox, IL) and junior Corinne Lutz (Minooka H.S./Minooka, IL) posted an 8-1 verdict at No. 3 doubles and each of them also won their singles bouts in straight sets.
Junior Barb Koziol (Reavis H.S./Burbank, IL) rounded out the win with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 6 singles.
USF (6-3) travels to Elgin on Wednesday for a match at Judson University at 3:30 p.m.
