Redshirt freshman running back Connor Krisch (Joliet Catholic Academy/Plainfield, IL) and true freshman placekicker Patrick Wright (Providence Catholic H.S./Lemont, IL) have each been awarded Player of the Week honors from the Mid-States Football Association after leading University of St. Francis to a 51-6 win at Iowa Wesleyan on Saturday night.

Krisch was named the MSFA/Midwest League Offensive Player of the Week after rushing for 211 yards on 28 carries and scoring 1 touchdown in his first collegiate start. Wright earned the league's Special Teams Player of the Week award after he made all three of his field goal attempts and converted on six straight point-after-touchdown conversion kicks.

Krisch became just the fourth running back in USF's 24-year football history to top the 200-yard barrier in a single game. He matched the second-best single-game rushing total in school history and came within 25 yards of equaling the school record of 236 set by John Larsen in 1987.

Wright connected on field goals from 42, 21 and 34 yards out and was 6-for-6 on extra points. The 42-yarder was the longest of his freshman season in which he has been successful on 5-of-6 attempts. He is a perfect 17-for-17 on extra points in the first five games of the season.

The Saints return home this coming Saturday to play No. 22 St. Ambrose (IA) at Joliet Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m.
