JOLIET, Ill. --- Tori Johnson, who once tied a state high school record with nine runs batted in in one game, has announced that she will attend University of St. Francis and play softball for the Fighting Saints.
Johnson, who hails from Shorewood, played shortstop on Joliet Catholic Academy's regional championship teams each of the past two years and was an all-area choice of the Joliet Herald-News as a junior. That same year, she was selected to the all-East Suburban Catholic Conference squad.
"Tori is an outstanding shortstop who is going to make a valuable contribution to our program," said USF head coach Dick Smith. "She is a good hitter and a solid fielder, two areas that will make us a better ballclub moving forward."
Johnson is undecided as to what major she will pursue at St. Francis.
