JOLIET, Ill. --- Lockport High School’s Nicole Pedone (Lockport, Ill.) has signed a letter of intent to attend University of St. Francis and compete in track for the Fighting Saints, it was announced on Sunday by USF head coach Dr. Drew Ludtke

Pedone earned a pair of varsity letters in both volleyball and track for the Porters, but will focus on the latter sport at St. Francis.

A captain this past year in the track program, Pedone’s personal records were 29 feet, 11.5 inches in the shot put, 88-3 in the discus, 14-7 in the long jump and 27-4 in the triple jump.

“Nicole is coming off a high school injury (hip surgery), but we are looking forward to having her on the team,” said Ludtke.  “She was a great asset at her high school for her team spirit and determination.”

Pedone, who won the Porter Pride award for volleyball her senior year, intends to major in psychology at St. Francis.
