Juan Santoliva registered his second straight shutout in USF's upset of Illinois Tech on Wednesday.

JOLIET, Ill. - University of St. Francis scored a pair of goals in the final 14 minutes of the game and upset defending Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference champion Illinois Tech, 2-0, Wednesday afternoon at the Galowich YMCA field.

Sophomore Ryan O'Rourke (Minooka H.S./Joliet, IL) notched the first goal in the game's 77th minute off an assist from freshman Shaun McMillin (Stagg H.S./Hickory Hills, IL). The Saints (4-4-1, 1-0) added some insurance with just over six minutes remaining when freshman Victor Trujillo (De La  Salle Institute/Chicago, IL) weaved his way through two defenders and scored his team-high fourth goal of the season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Juan Santoliva (Bradley-Bourbonnais H.S./Bourbonnais, IL) recorded his second consecutive complete-game shutout and ran his scoreless streak in goal to 261 minutes in his last three games, all USF victories. Santoliva was credited with 5 saves against Illinois Tech, including three from point-blank range.

Illinois Tech (5-5, 1-1) had more shots on goal than USF (5-4) and played most of the second half at the USF end of the field. But the Saints made the most of their two real scoring opportunities in the final half and scored goals on each of them.

USF has won two in a row for the first time this season and for the first time since the 2006 campaign. The Saints have also won three of their last four matches. Their four wins on the season thus far equal the most they have recorded in one season since going 4-12-1 in 2006.

The victory over Illinois Tech avenged an 11-0 setback to the Scarlet Hawks in Chicago a year ago in a game in which USF trailed 10-0 at halftime. It marked USF's first win over IIT since a 4-3 victory back in 2004.

The Saints travel to Chicago for another CCAC match at Saint Xavier on Friday at 7 p.m.
