Victor Trujillo got his seventh goal of the season and second game winner on a penalty kick in the 88th minute.

JOLIET — Junior forward Victor Trujillo (De La Salle Institute/Chicago, IL) connected on a penalty kick with just a little over one minute remaining in the game to give University of St. Francis a 3-2 non-conference men's soccer victory over Missouri Baptist University Monday night at Joliet Memorial Stadium.

Trujillo's goal, his second game winner of the season, came after he was tripped in the box on a USF attack.

The Saints (3-0-1) had to battle from behind in the final 34 minutes after the visiting Spartans had taken a 2-1 lead on the second of two goals scored by Dylan Penrod.

USF scored first in the game when junior midfielder Michael Kowal (Neuqua Valley H.S./Plainfield, IL) notched the first of his two goals on the night in the 22nd minute. Trujillo was credited with an assist on Kowal's goal. Penrod then tied the game with his first goal in the 38th minute of the opening half.

Kowal got the Saints even after Penrod's second goal, scoring unassisted with just under 30 minutes to play.

The victory was USF's second in a row in third in four starts with one tie. The Saints travel to Indiana this weekend for road games against a pair of NAIA foes. USF plays Taylor University on Friday afternoon in Upland and meets Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday evening in Marion.
