JOLIET -- Junior defender Michael Kowal (Neuqua Valley H.S./Plainfield, IL) broke a 1-1 tie with a 40-yard direct kick for a goal in the final two minutes to lead University of St. Francis to an upset of Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference leader Judson Saturday afternoon at ATI Field at Joliet Memorial Stadium.

The 2-1 win gave the Saints (7-3-2, 3-1-1) their second straight win and pushed USF into third place in the CCAC standings behind both Judson (8-4, 4-1) and Olivet Nazarene.

USF and Judson each traded goals late in the opening half. Juniro forward Victor Trujillo (De La Salle Institute/Chicago, IL) got the Saints' goal off feeds from Christian Ontiveros (Bolingbrook H.S./Bolingbrook, IL) and Willie Gutierrez (Thornwood H.S./South Holland, IL).

The score remained tied until Kowal's long dramatic kick with just 2:10 left in the game.
