JOLIET — Junior forward Victor Trujillo (De La Salle Institute/Chicago, IL) scored the final two goals for University of St. Francis Tuesday night as the Fighting Saints defeated Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference rival Olivet Nazarene University, 3-1, in a men's soccer matchup at ATI Field at Joliet Memorial Stadium.

Junior midfielder Matt Gorecki (Oak Lawn H.S./Oak Lawn, IL) got the Saints (9-4-2, 5-2-1) on the board quickly with the game's first goal in just the seventh minute. Gorecki's left-footed drive from outside the box on the left-hand side came off an assist from junior midfielder Willie Gutierrez (Thornwood H.S./South Holland, IL).

Trujillo notched his first goal – and the eventual game-winner – just six minutes later off a nice pass from freshman forward Juan Mascote (Joliet Township H.S./Joliet, IL).

Olivet Nazarene (5-9-1, 5-3) notched its only goal of the night on a shot from Patrick Hoep in the 35th minute.

Trujillo gave the Saints an insurance goal and some breathing room when he took a long pass from junior midfielder Carlos Del Toro (Morton H.S./Chicago, IL) and scored from the left side of the box in the third minute of the second half.

Senior goalkeeper Juan Santoliva (Bradley-Bourbonnais H.S./Bourbonnais, IL) earned the win in the net for the Saints and was credited with six saves.

The victory gave the Saints their ninth win of the year, the most by a USF men's soccer team since the 2002 Saints won 10 games.

USF is now off for eight days before playing host to Robert Morris University on Oct. 26 at ATI Field at Joliet Memorial Stadium.
