JOLIET, Ill. --- Danielle Hoffman, the first girls' tennis sectional winner in 30 years at Andrew High School, has announced that she will continue her playing career at University of St. Francis after signing a letter of intent to attend the Joliet-based school on Wednesday.

Hoffman, a native of Tinley Park, Ill., advanced to the state finals earlier this fall, where she went 1-1.  It marked her second straight appearance at the state finals.

"Danielle excelled during her high school career," said USF head coach Ralph Kwilosz.  "She will be a terrific addition to our program, which will have a solid core of returning players coming back next year."

Named the most improved player her freshman year for the Thunderbolts, Hoffman went on to notch team most valuable players honors each of the past two years.  During those same two seasons, Hoffman earned a spot on the all-Southwest Suburban Conference team.

Hoffman plans on majoring in radiation therapy at St. Francis.

USF went 11-11 overall and 4-2 in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play last year.
