JOLIET, Ill. --- A career night from senior forward Lukas Zebrauskas (Stagg H.S./Palos Heights, IL) and double-figure scoring from four of his teammates produced the second-highest scoring output of the season for University of St. Francis as the Saints ran by Holy Cross College (Ind.), 90-65, Tuesday night at the Patrick J. Sullivan Recreation Center.
Zebrauskas was the can't-miss kid for much of the night going 7-for-8 from the field and 10-of-12 from the foul line on his way to a career-high 25-point performance. In the first half alone, Zebrauskas missed only one of 13 shots after firing in all 10 of his free throw attempts. Coming into the game, he was shooting just .545 from the charity stripe (36-of-66).
Zebrauskas also hauled in eight rebounds as part of a group that outmuscled Holy Cross (7-12) on the boards, 52-27.
Senior center Jordan Lee (Southeastern Oklahoma State University/Champaign, IL) led the rebounding charge with 12 caroms on his way to his second double-double of the season courtesy of his 16 points.
Freshman forward Darius Draper (Stagg H.S./Palos Hills, IL) just missed out on his first collegiate double-double posting 14 points and nine rebounds off the bench.
Sophomore forward Andrew Lerg (DeWitt H.S./DeWitt, MI) and freshman guard Chris Miller (Boylan H.S./Rockford, IL), who was making just his second collegiate start, added 10 points apiece.
With the exception of a 3-2 deficit at the start, USF (10-7) led throughout gaining a 43-34 advantage at the break after leading by as many as 12 points in the opening half. In the second half, the Saints led by double digits for all but 38 seconds.
St. Francis continues its busy week traveling to Elgin on Thursday to face Judson University for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff.
