Khochon Thanadabouth - Head Coach - 2nd Season
Khochon Thanadabouth began his second coaching assignment at USF last fall and his first with the men's team when he was named the men's head coach in May, 2008. He replaced Mario Dukovac, who stepped down from his position as both the head men's and women's coaches at the completion of the 2007 season.
Thanadabouth served as the first head coach of the Saints women's program from 1995-99 and compiled a 29-49-3 record. His five-year run was capped off by an 11-7 campaign in 1999, the program's first winning season and one of just two winning years in the 13-year program history.
The 1991 graduate of University of Illinois Chicago played collegiately for the Flames and then professionally for the Chicago Power of the National Professional Soccer League.
Thanadabouth has served as Director of Coaching for the Windy City Pride S.C., since 1997. That club is considered one of the premiere girls' soccer clubs in Illinois. He has directed Windy City to three USYSA national tournament appearances, four Midwest Regional championships and 18 Illinois State Cup titles.
Thanadabouth began his coaching career as an assistant varsity coach at Homewood-Flossmoor High in 1990.
"One of my main focuses over the next couple of years will be to get our soccer programs back challenging for (Chicagoland Collegaite Athletic) conference championships," said Laketa at the time of Thanadabouth's announcement. "I feel that we have taken a solid first step in that direction with the hiring of Ko.
"Ko helped initiate our women's program back in the ‘90s and recruited some of the top talent in the area," continued Laketa. "We are confident he can do the same in rebuilding our men's program and he is excited about the challenge."
