AT USF: 2008: An honorable mention All-MSFA selection after leading the Saints to a 7-4 mark and their first national rankings and winning season since 1991 … Rewrote many of the USF single-season passing records … Set marks for most completions (172), most attempts (345), most yards (2,099) and most touchdowns (18) … Also combined with Will Ducey of St. Ambrose for the most passing yards by opposing quarterbacks in a USF game (Goolsby 307, Ducey 354) … Named the Midwest League Offensive Player of the Week after the Saint Xavier win … Completed 19-of-36 passes in that game for 251 yards and 3 touchdowns … Topped the 200-yard mark six times and tossed for a career-best 307 yards in the loss at Midwest League champion St. Ambrose … He posted almost all of his best numbers in that loss to the Bees … Completed a career-high 24 passes in a career-high 44 attempts to get the previously mentioned 307 yards … Also picked off a career-high tying four times in that game (as well as at Olivet Nazarene in the finale) … Passed for 3 touchdowns both in the win at SXU and the following week in the Homecoming win over Grand View … Threw at least one TD pass in every game with the exception of the rainy season opener vs. Valparaiso … He only had 3 passing attempts in that wet weather, and two of them were intercepted … Totaled just 5 passing yards vs. Valpo and only 98 on just 9 completions in a 28-3 win at Trinity International where the Saints utilized a dominant rushing attack … Topped the 100-yard mark in all the other nine contests. 2007: Battled injuries for the second straight year and made only three starts … Hurt his leg in the third quarter of the opener at Valparaiso but still finished the game … Completed 16-of-27 passes for 186 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Saints narrowly lost, 28-21, to the NCAA Division I-AA Crusaders … Did not return to action until the season's sixth game at Iowa Wesleyan … Directed the Saints to their most convincing win since 2001 and their biggest offensive output in that same amount of time as USF pounded IWC, 37-3 … Goolsby completed 18-of-38 tosses for 215 yards and 2 touchdowns … He re-injured his knee the following week in a disheartening 24-17 loss to William Penn at home in a game in which USF led until the final quarter … Goolsby completed 12-of-28 passes for 70 yards and 1 touchdown before departing. 2006: Started four games before sitting out the rest of the year with an injury … Played the first half of the season opener at St. Joseph's but then was knocked out of that game and the home opener the following week with a concussion … Returned to start the next three games before being sidelined for the rest of the year … Most productive game came at Saint Xavier when he completed 14-of-29 tosses for 194 yards and a touchdown … Next highest yardage total came against Quincy when he connected on 18-of-38 passes for 163 yards … Finished his abbreviated season completing 51-of-106 passes for 539 yards … Tossed 1 touchdown pass and a pair of interceptions. At Toledo: Transferred into USF in the fall of 2006 from the University of Toledo ... Redshirted his freshman season with the Rockets. In H.S.: H.S. coach: Dan Darlington … Lettered three times in football and baseball at Morris … Captain and MVP of both teams as a senior … Earned all-state and All-Suburban Prairie Conference honors as a senior quarterback in 2003 … Passed for 2,203 yards that fall … Named to the Chicago Sun-Times Top 100 list, while also securing all-area status from the Chicago Tribune, Joliet Herald News and Morris Daily Herald his last year as a prep … Participated in the 2004 IHSFCA/Shriners Game. Other: Born 2-26-86 … Graduated from USF in the spring of 2008 and is currently in his second year of graduate school … Earned Dean's List honors in three of his four undergraduate semesters at USF … Graduated with a 3.66 grade point average and then posted perfect 4.00 GPAs in the fall of 2008 and the spring of 2009 in graduate school … Named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete and to the MSFA All-Academic team in 2008.
