JOLIET, Ill. --- Mike Uremovich is climbing the ladder.

The seven-year head coach of the University of St. Francis met with school officials Friday afternoon to inform them that he has accepted a position as the special teams coordinator at NCAA I Northern Illinois University.  He made the announcement to his team a few hours later.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- University of St. Francis was able to crack one of Marian University's (Ind.) codes – scoring on a passing play – but the Saints joined their 11 previous counterparts in failing to solve how to tag the No. 1-ranked team in the nation with a loss in 2011 as Marian rolled to a 49-7 victory in quarterfinal-round action of the NAIA Football Championship Series on Saturday afternoon.

JOLIET, Ill. --- University of St. Francis runningback Garen Demery (Valhalla H.S./El Cajon, CA) and defensive tackle James Bowman (Fenger Academy/Chicago, IL) came up big on Senior Day this past Saturday and on Monday the pair was rewarded with Mid-States Football Association – Midwest League weekly accolades.

JOLIET – No. 11-ranked University of St. Francis got the news it wanted to hear out of Kansas City this afternoon when the NAIA announced that the Fighting Saints will be one of 16 teams in the upcoming Football Championship Series that begins on Saturday (Nov. 19) at eight sites around the country.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. --- University of St. Francis has assured itself of its first playoff bid in 24 years after the announcement that the Saints have moved up two spots to No. 11 in the final regular-season NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll, which was released early Sunday afternoon.

JOLIET – NAIA No. 13 University of St. Francis rallied from a 10-7 deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat No. 17 St. Ambrose University (IA), 21-10, and capture a share of its first-ever Mid-States Football Association/Midwest League championship. The victory, in front of a crowd of nearly 3,000 fans at ATI Field at Joliet Memorial Stadium, also gave USF a school-record nine victories in the regular season.
