JOLIET, Ill. --- University of St. Francis opened up the spring portion of its schedule in solid fashion Saturday afternoon defeating St. Ambrose University (Iowa), 6-3, at the Challenge Fitness Tennis Courts. 

JOLIET, Ill. --- University of St. Francis head men's tennis coach Jim Trudeau considers his newest addition, Diego Mogrovejo, a case of perfect timing.  Mogrovejo, from Cuenca, Azvay, Ecuador, signed a letter of intent to attend St. Francis and play for the Fighting Saints over the recently-completed winter break. 

JOLIET, Ill. --- Ranked No. 15 among high school senior tennis players in the state of Illinois by the Tennis Recruiting Network and a four-time state finals qualifier, Marist High School’s Alex Haizel (Oak Lawn, Ill.) has committed to University of St. Francis after signing a letter of intent to attend the Joliet-based school and play tennis for the Fighting Saints.

JOLIET, Ill. --- Former St. Petersburg High School teammates Mark Zubov (St. Petersburg, Russia) and Kirill Lavrentyev (St. Petersburg, Russia) will be reunited in 2011 after the latter announced that he has signed a letter of intent to attend University of St. Francis and play tennis for the Fighting Saints this coming fall.

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. - Senior Jakub Szymanski (Bethany College/Poznan, Poland) logged the only win for University of St. Francis as the Saints fell at NCAA Division II Lewis University by an 8-1 score on Tuesday afternoon. The setback snaps USF's winning streak at four matches.

MERRILLVILLE, Ind. --- University of St. Francis continued its late-season charge with two more victories on Saturday - 7-2 over Ashford University (IA) and 8-1 opposite Purdue University Calumet - giving the Saints four straight wins and five victories in their last six matches.

HANOVER PARK, Ill. --- Behind senior Jakub Szymanski and sophomore Andres Stecher, University of St. Francis claimed back-to-back wins for the first time in 2011 after outlasting Wheaton College, 5-4, at the Centre Court Athletic Club Monday afternoon.

LOCKPORT, Ill. --- Five of six University of St. Francis players registered a pair of victories on the day as the Saints made it two wins in their last three matches with an 8-1 decision over Judson University Saturday morning.

LOCKPORT, Ill. --- University of St. Francis senior Jacob Quigley (Saint Xavier University/Joliet Catholic Academy/Joliet, IL) was the only Saint who could crack the code against NAIA No. 16-ranked Aquinas College (MI) as Aquinas came away with a 7-2 victory over the Saints at the Challenge Fitness indoor courts on Friday night.

LOCKPORT, Ill. --- University of St. Francis' men's tennis team took four of six singles matches, but had to wait until the final doubles match was completed before it could claim a 5-4 victory over Davenport University (MI) at the Challenge Fitness indoor courts on Saturday.
