
CHICAGO --- University of St. Francis gave NAIA I No. 14-ranked Saint Xavier University all it could handle Tuesday night at the Shannon Center, but in the end an opening 17-4 run did the Saints in in an eventual 79-70 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference loss to the Cougars.

HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. --- The Mighty Eight did it again as University of St. Francis' band of just eight rostered players pulled off their second upset of the season and earned their 15thwin of the campaign, this time knocking off NAIA I No. 26-ranked Robert Morris University, 63-59, in overtime in a Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference matchup at the Sears Centre Tuesday night.

ELGIN, Ill. --- University of St. Francis saw an 18-point second-half lead dissipate down to three points in the late going, but the Saints held on as all five starters scored in double figures to lead USF to a 70-63 victory over Judson University at the Lindner Fitness Center Thursday night.

JOLIET, Ill. --- The climb up the mountain was long, but University of St. Francis eventually got over the top to claim a 72-65 victory over Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Division II counterpart Holy Cross College (Ind.) at the Patrick J. Sullivan Recreation Center Tuesday night.

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. ---The nation's No. 1-ranked scoring team was held five points below its average, but that was still not enough to slow down NAIA I No. 14-ranked Olivet Nazarene University as the Tigers gained a 97-72 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over University of St. Francis at McHie Arena Saturday afternoon.

JOLIET, Ill. --- Double-doubles from freshman forward Katie Gonnering (Freedom H.S./Seymour, IL) and senior forward Michelle Karr (Providence Catholic H.S./Tinley Park, IL) and Karr's two free throws with 23 seconds to play were the difference in University of St. Francis' thrilling 77-76 Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory over Roosevelt University at the Patrick J. Sullivan Center Tuesday night.

JOLIET, Ill. --- The Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference opener did not get off to the start University of St. Francis was hoping for as NAIA I No. 21-ranked Robert Morris University used 10 three-pointers on the day and a 51.5 percent shooting percentage from the field in the second half to nail down the league contest, 71-58, at the Patrick J. Sullivan Center Saturday afternoon.

CHICAGO --- A 51-point second half keyed by all-tournament selection Michelle Karr (Providence Catholic H.S./Tinley Park, IL) and freshman guard Cydney Weisflog (Oak Creek H.S./Oak Creek, WI) led University of St. Francis to the consolation championship of the Saint Xavier University Holiday Tournament after knocking off Indiana counterpart, University of Saint Francis, 78-68, Thursday afternoon at the Shannon Center.

CHICAGO --- Just one game into the second half of its 2011-12 season, University of St. Francis has already matched its win total for all of last year after four Fighting Saint starters scored in double figures to snap a season-high four-game losing streak with a 66-57 victory over Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.) in second-round action of the Saint Xavier University Holiday Tournament Wednesday afternoon.

CHICAGO --- NAIA II No. 4-ranked Davenport University (Mich.) forced University of St. Francis into a season-high 36 turnovers in coasting to its seventh straight win, opening the 2011 Saint Xavier University Holiday Tournament with an 81-51 victory Tuesday afternoon.
