Seven University of St. Francis football players were recently named NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2009 season. In addition, senior wide receiver Jason Fiske (Belvidere H.S./Loves Park, IL) was recognized as an ESPN/CoSIDA Academic All-District honoree.

A total of 13 University of St. Francis football players were recently selected to the All-Mid-States Football Association/ Midwest League honor team after a vote by league coaches.

JOLIET, Ill. - The William Penn University Statesmen limited University of St. Francis' high-powered offense to a season-low 177 yards and 6 points and defeated the Saints 27-6 in the season finale for both teams.

QUINCY, Ill. --- From elation to deflation in mere seconds.  University of St. Francis has experienced that mood swing far too often during the 2009 campaign and had its balloon popped yet again on Saturday when the Saints failed to convert on a point-after touchdown (PAT) to force overtime for the second time in just over a month.

Redshirt freshman running back Connor Krisch (Joliet Catholic Academy/Plainfield, IL) and true freshman linebacker Drew Tondini (Morris H.S./Morris, IL) have each been awarded Player of the Week recognition from the Mid-States Football Association after leading University of St. Francis to a 19-0 shutout victory at Waldorf (IA) on Saturday afternoon.

Senior quarterback John Goolsby (Morris H.S./Morris, IL) has been named the Mid-States Football Association/Midwest League Offensive Player of the Week sophomore defensive back Wayne Johnson (York H.S./McConnells, SC) was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week after the pair led USF to a convincing 62-20 win over Olivet Nazarene Saturday night in New Lenox.

NEW LENOX, Ill. - After battling through seven weeks of mostly frustrating football, University of St. Francis finally found a way to have a little fun on Saturday night. The Saints (2-6, 1-3) tied a school record with 62 points as they ran away to a 62-20 Mid-States Football Association crossover victory over rival Olivet Nazarene University (2-6).

JOLIET, Ill. - The University of St. Francis vs. Olivet Nazarene University football game scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24, has been moved from Joliet Memorial Stadium to Lincoln-Way West High School in New Lenox. Kickoff will remain as scheduled for 6 p.m.
